Adult Onset Still’s Disease

Adult Onset Still Disease is a form of rheumatoid arthritis, also called as Systemic-Onset Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. It is a disorder which features inflammation, characterized by high fevers, transient salmon-colored rash, and arthritis. It was first described in children by George Frederic Still.
Diagnosing Still disease is not by serology test. It is diagnosed clinically, since having rheumatoid does not affect our blood. Though many patients with Still’s disease have markedly elevated white blood cell counts, they have serious infection, but not related to the Still’s disease. Like systemic lupus erythematosus, blood tests are usually negative.
